Carlisle Civil War Building Plaque Program
The purpose of this program is to encourage interest in and knowledge of Carlisle’s Civil War history by identifying the buildings that stood during that period.
The Carlisle Civil War Building Plaque is bronze and cast locally in Columbia PA by the Paul W. Zimmerman Foundries and ERIE LANDMARK COMPANY. The actual dimensions are 8.5” wide x 5” high.
- Properties with at least 60% of the 1860s façade (excluding the roof) are eligible
- Property owners are invited to submit an application with a small fee that covers the cost of the plaque
- Buildings will be visited and reviewed by historians who will validate the construction and confirm eligibility
Full information and an application form (5 pages in all) should be downloaded from this link.
